Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

'The Big Lebowski' is another great film from the Coen brothers. There is not much story but the movie is full with beautiful characters. Jeff Bridges plays 'the Dude', a guy who does nothing all day. Well, he bowls and drinks White Russians. His real name is Jeff Lebowski and he is mistaken for the big Lebowski, a very rich man. When they ask him money in his apartment, they put his head in the toilet and urinate on his rug. All the Dude wants is a new rug, but when he goes to the real big Lebowski to ask one, things will get way out of hand.

The bowling he does with Walter, played by a fantastic John Goodman, a guy who was in Vietnam (and yes, we will know that), and with Donny (Steve Buscemi). Donny is nothing but a guy they bowl with, he is not really allowed to speak. Walter and Donny have the same joke over and over again, you will laugh every time. We have a side character Jesus played by John Turturro, it doesn't add much to anything, but again, a wonderful character. Julianne Moore plays the daughter of the big Lebowski and she has a very nice character too. There is another very funny group, in the movie they are called nihilists. You will have to see the movie to understand it, but you will agree they are all very funny characters.

Because of the characters you don't really see there is so little story. There are some great dream sequences with great music and the best thing is the cinematography. Like in most Coen-movies it looks very beautiful (The Man Who Wasn't There comes to mind). Definitely a Coen-movie, definitely great.
