Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

'Barely Legal' (or 'After School Special') is another film of National Lampoon's high school collection, started a long time ago with 'Animal House'. The level of that film, although I personally did not like it very much, has not been reached ever since, 'Barely Legal' being no exception. This time we follow three 17-year old boys making a porno to get money which will give them power which will lead to girls, as they have learned from 'Scarface'.

Of course this is a simple minded story and of course it will deliver a simple film, but admittedly it is not boring. It is clichéd and predictable, there is enough female nudity, Amy Smart should not have been it, but from time to time it is actually a little funny. Especially some scenes that deal with wannabe porn star Ashley (Sarah-Jane Potts) have their moments; Tom Arnold at least gives some smiles as the father of one of the boys. Definitely not good, but for very light entertainment you might give it a try.
