Below you will find a temporary review for this film. The real (better, more complete) review will be online very soon.

For me director Stanley Kubrick has only made masterpieces or good movies (like his first movie ‘Killer's Kiss' and his last ‘Eyes Wide Shut'). After masterpieces like ‘Paths of Glory', ‘Dr. Strangelove' and ‘2001: A Space Odyssey' he brought us ‘A Clockwork Orange'. A disturbing movie, adapted from the book written by Anthony Burgess.

The movie tells the story of Alexander de Large (Malcolm McDowell). He and his friends are the worst people in society. They like to rape, they like ultra-violence and Alex likes Beethoven as well. Classical music is used perfectly in this movie (as in Kubrick's ‘2001'). Alex is betrayed by his friends after he kills a woman and he is imprisoned. After a couple of years he has the chance to become the subject of a new technique, the Ludovico-treatment, which will make him a good citizen.

With a lot of on-screen violence and sex Kubrick makes his point. With less violence the movie would lose some of its impact. ‘A Clockwork Orange' is a real masterpiece in every single way. If you can stand the violence and sex you should see this movie, it is more than great.
