'8 Mile' is entertaining. You don't even have to like rap music. May be you
must not hate it, but if you can stand it you can like this film. Director
Curtis Hanson, known from 'L.A. Confidential', has made an entertaining
film, but in my opinion it wasn't really finished. I was hoping for 20 more
minutes or so. The film has a message though and that message is told before
those 20 minutes I was hoping for.
Eminem is surprisingly good as Jimmy Smith. May be he is not really acting,
more like playing himself, but he does a fine job. Supporting characters
like Brittany Murphy, Kim Basinger en Makhi Phifer are all pretty good too.
Definitely worth watching.
